Conversation

Part 1

Examiner

Are you good at memorising things?

Candidate

Yes, I do think I am very good at memorizing things. One of my virtues I think is that for example, at work I try to memorize all the things I have to do during the day, all the meetings I have. And I don't usually check my my schedule to to to know what I'm going to do next. But sometimes from time to time I tend to forgot things also.

Examiner

Have you ever forgotten something important?

Candidate

Yes, from time to time I do tend to forget things which are important. For example, today I was working I I forgot that I had a meeting in the morning in another building. So I went straight to my office 1st and then I received an A text from a coworker which said that where are you? And I was like, oh, I forgot about that.

Examiner

What do you need to remember in your daily life?

Candidate

Right now, what I think I need to remember in my daily life is that my work partner is on vacation because she left me all her hiring processes that are pending and I tend to focus only on my departments that I'm in charge of. But I have to also remember that I have to check for with the other departments.

Examiner

How do you remember important things?

Candidate

I try to remember things just using my my memory right now, but I think that I need some kind of agenda, maybe because I happen to start writing paper in post, it's all my pending work and then those posted disappear, so I have to be really careful with them and I think I need something like.

Grammar

Past tense issue

× But sometimes from time to time I tend to forgot things also.

But sometimes from time to time I tend to forget things also.

The verb 'forgot' is the past tense form, but after 'tend to' we need the base form of the verb, which is 'forget'. This is because 'tend to' is followed by the infinitive form without 'to' (bare infinitive). To improve, always use the base form of the verb after modal-like expressions such as 'tend to'.

Article errors

× So I went straight to my office 1st and then I received an A text from a coworker which said that where are you?

So I went straight to my office first and then I received a text from a coworker which said, 'Where are you?'.

The article 'an' is incorrectly used before 'A text'; it should be 'a text' because 'text' starts with a consonant sound. Also, '1st' should be written as 'first' in formal speech. Additionally, the direct speech should be properly punctuated and capitalized. To improve, use the correct indefinite article based on the initial sound of the following word and write ordinal numbers in words in formal contexts.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× But I have to also remember that I have to check for with the other departments.

But I also have to remember that I have to check with the other departments.

The phrase 'check for with' is incorrect. The correct preposition to use with 'check' in this context is 'with'. Also, the adverb 'also' is better placed after the subject 'I'. To improve, use the correct preposition 'with' after 'check' when referring to departments and place adverbs appropriately.

Incorrect use of prepositions

× I try to remember things just using my my memory right now, but I think that I need some kind of agenda, maybe because I happen to start writing paper in post, it's all my pending work and then those posted disappear, so I have to be really careful with them and I think I need something like.

I try to remember things just using my memory right now, but I think that I need some kind of agenda, maybe because I tend to start writing papers on post-it notes; it's all my pending work and then those notes disappear, so I have to be really careful with them and I think I need something like that.

The phrase 'writing paper in post' is unclear and incorrect. The correct expression is 'writing papers on post-it notes'. Also, 'happen to start' is better expressed as 'tend to start' to indicate habitual action. The sentence was incomplete and needed clarification. To improve, use correct prepositional phrases and clarify the meaning for better understanding.
