Part 1
Examiner
What is your favourite food?
Candidate
If I had to choose one I'd to go with hot pot. I love how interactive interactive it is. You cook the food together and check the whole time. I usually pick a spicy Sufis and my must have beef, sliced mushrooms and Leafly vegetables. For me it's not just for food, it's a fun way to spend time with families.
Examiner
What kind of food did you like when you were young?
Candidate
Yes actually I really don't like my friends. It's not a taste itself but the smell is a bit too strong for me and it can I can easily taste over the whole food. Even a small amount of home makes the food taste weird so I usually ask for no mushrooms when I order dishes.
Examiner
Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?
Candidate
When I was young, I had a sweet tooth. I loved snacks and desserts like sweet bread, cookies and milk drinks. I said it was because sweet food always made me feel happy and as a young kid I didn't really care about calories or health.
Examiner
Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?
Candidate
Not really, I've always loved noodles since I was a child. When I was young my favorite was simple soup noodles. Now I still love noodles but I go for stronger flavors like spicy noodles or beef noodles. So the food is the same but my preferences are a bit more upgraded.
What is your favourite food?
Example: My favourite food is hot pot because it’s interactive and great for socialising. I usually choose a spicy soup base and my must-haves are thinly sliced beef, mushrooms and leafy vegetables. Also, I enjoy it because it’s a fun way to spend time with family.
What kind of food did you like when you were young?
Example: When I was young, I didn’t like mushrooms because their smell was too strong for me. Even a small amount could affect the taste of a dish, so I always asked for no mushrooms when ordering. As a result, I preferred dishes without strong-smelling ingredients.
Do you eat different foods at different times of the year?
Example: Yes, I do eat different foods depending on the season. For example, in summer I prefer cold drinks and fresh salads, while in winter I enjoy hot soups and stews. In general, seasonal weather affects what I like to eat.
Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?
Example: Not really — I’ve loved noodles since childhood. As a kid I preferred simple soup noodles, but nowadays I enjoy stronger flavours like spicy or beef noodle dishes, so my tastes have become more adventurous.
× If I had to choose one I'd to go with hot pot.
✓ If I had to choose one I'd go with hot pot.
句中'd I'd to go'是不正确的动词结构。短语“I'd”是“I would”的缩写,后面直接接动词原形go,而不是不定式to。应改为“I'd go”。
× I love how interactive interactive it is.
✓ I love how interactive it is.
× You cook the food together and check the whole time.
✓ You cook the food together and chat the whole time.
× I usually pick a spicy Sufis and my must have beef, sliced mushrooms and Leafly vegetables.
✓ I usually pick a spicy soup and my must-have items are beef, sliced mushrooms and leafy vegetables.
原句存在多个问题:'Sufis'拼写错误,应为'soup';'a spicy soup'后接'noun list'需并列结构;'must have'需连字符并与名词搭配(must-have items);'Leafly'拼写错误,应为'leafy'。
× For me it's not just for food, it's a fun way to spend time with families.
✓ For me it's not just about food; it's a fun way to spend time with family.
'spend time with families'用法不自然。通常用'spend time with family'表示和家人共度时光。 建议使用固定搭配'spend time with family'。
× Yes actually I really don't like my friends.
✓ Yes, actually I really don't like mushrooms.
× It's not a taste itself but the smell is a bit too strong for me and it can I can easily taste over the whole food.
✓ It's not the taste itself but the smell is a bit too strong for me and it can easily overpower the whole dish.
原句结构混乱:'a taste itself'应为'the taste itself';'it can I can'重复且语序错误;'taste over the whole food'不自然,应为'overpower the whole dish'。
× Even a small amount of home makes the food taste weird so I usually ask for no mushrooms when I order dishes.
✓ Even a small amount of mushrooms makes the food taste weird, so I usually ask for no mushrooms when I order dishes.
× When I was young, I had a sweet tooth.
✓ When I was young, I had a sweet tooth.
× I loved snacks and desserts like sweet bread, cookies and milk drinks.
✓ I loved snacks and desserts like sweet bread, cookies and milk drinks.
× I said it was because sweet food always made me feel happy and as a young kid I didn't really care about calories or health.
✓ I think it was because sweet food always made me feel happy, and as a young kid I didn't really care about calories or health.
I said it was because...'
× Not really, I've always loved noodles since I was a child.
✓ Not really, I've loved noodles since I was a child.
句中同时使用现在完成时的副词'always'和'since I was a child'可以接受,但更自然的表达是'I've loved... since I was a child'。原句“I've always loved... since”虽常见但略冗。
× When I was young my favorite was simple soup noodles.
✓ When I was young my favorite was simple soup noodles.
× Now I still love noodles but I go for stronger flavors like spicy noodles or beef noodles.
✓ Now I still love noodles, but I go for stronger flavors like spicy noodles or beef noodles.
× So the food is the same but my preferences are a bit more upgraded.
✓ So the food is the same, but my preferences have changed a bit / become a bit more sophisticated.
