What languages can you speak?

I can speak Chinese and English. I study these two languages from a very early age in school. Uh, of course Chinese is my native language and uh, I also learn to speak at home as a child, like most children.

Do you think it is difficult to learn a new language?
Candidate
I think it honestly depends on what the language is and whether you're familiar with the language family or not. I mean, if you're Chinese then it's easier for you to learn Japanese than say German or Russian because they share some characteristics in common, almost at least in the form.

Will you learn other languages in the future?
Candidate
Definitely. Usually I love to explore other countries in the world, so if I want to truly know about them, I have to learn their cultures. And learning their cultures requires me to learn their languages.

Why do you learn English?
Candidate
Almost everyone from where I'm from learns English, and it the important language of international business and politics too. So I think it's important and useful to speak, read and write English, and that's why people around me learn English.
