Do you like reading?
Yes, I do. I have loved reading since childhood, especially books about Chinese history and classic novels. For example, I enjoy reading Romance of the Three Kingdoms because it combines history with fascinating characters. Reading these books helps me understand Chinese culture and history better.
Do you prefer to read on paper or on a screen?
修正错误表达(例如“prefer read”应为“prefer to read”,模糊短语“it's a it's tax return”需改为具体原因如“more comfortable”)。
It depends, but generally I prefer reading on paper because it is more comfortable for my eyes and I find it easier to concentrate. However, when I travel for business I read on a screen because e-books are more convenient and lighter to carry.
When do you need to read carefully, and when not?
I need to read very carefully when the material is important or technical, for example when I study academic essays or review project reports. In contrast, I skim newspapers or light articles when I just want to get a general idea.
Do you prefer scanning or detailed reading?
I use both scanning and detailed reading depending on the situation. For instance, in an exam I usually scan to find key information quickly because time is limited. However, when I need to understand complicated ideas I read in detail and take notes to ensure I fully grasp the content.
× I am fascinated by books I love reading.
✓ I am fascinated by books; I love reading.
× Since I was a child I had read a lot of books about Chinese history, especially some traditional Chinese novel, and I have been interested in it even now.
✓ Since I was a child I have read a lot of books about Chinese history, especially some traditional Chinese novels, and I am still interested in them now.
Since I was a child"的常见用法,表示从过去持续到现在的应使用现在完成时(have read)。另外,"some traditional Chinese novel"在语法上单复数不一致,需改为复数novels;代词"it"应与复数名词一致改为"them";最后一部分时态与状态描述用现在时更自然(I am still interested)。
× Well it depends. I prefer read on paper because it's a it's tax return in some way are attractive to me.
✓ Well, it depends. I prefer reading on paper because it's somehow more attractive to me.
原句中有多处问题:"prefer read"动词搭配错误,应为"prefer reading"或"prefer to read"(动词后需-ing或不定式);"it's a it's tax return in some way are attractive to me"是破碎且语序错误,应简化为"it's somehow more attractive to me"。
× But sometimes if I go a trip for business I will on a screen because it's more possible.
✓ But sometimes if I go on a business trip I will read on a screen because it's more convenient.
原句中短语顺序错误:应为"go on a business trip"而不是"go a trip for business";此外缺少动词"read"在"I will on a screen"中;"more possible"用词不当,描述偏好应使用"more convenient"或"more practical"。
× Well, sometimes if I read some some essays or sometimes I need to deal with some really serious paper of projection, I will read very seriously.
✓ Well, sometimes when I read some essays or need to deal with some really serious project papers, I read very carefully.
原句有重复词"some some","paper of projection"词序和用词错误,应为"project papers"或"papers for a project";句子时态与习惯性动作更适合一般现在时,因此改为"I read very carefully";另外用法上"read carefully"比"read very seriously"更自然。
× Well, it depends. If I am in a exam such as else test I have to scan the articles because I have no time.
✓ Well, it depends. If I am in an exam such as a placement test, I have to scan the articles because I don't have time.
原句中冠词使用错误:应为"an exam"(以元音音素开头的单词前用an);"such as else test"不自然,改为更常见的"such as a placement test"或类似表述;最后一句时态与否定形式应为"I don't have time"而不是"I have no time"(虽然两者都可,但在口语中使用don't have time更常见)。
× But sometimes if I want to understand or figure out something more specific I will read the details.
✓ But sometimes if I want to understand or figure out something more specific, I will read the details.
