Part 1

Examinador

Are there any rules for students at your school?

Candidato

Well, I remember, uh, back in the days when I was still in high school, we do have a rule for particularly girls that your skirt, uh, 'cause we do have uniforms, uh, so your skirt has to be a longer and beneath your knee, like it can't be like really short. So, yeah, I think that's one of the most memorable world that I had back in high school.

Examinador

Do you think students would benefit more from more rules?

Candidato

Well, I would say I agree to a certain extent that students will need a certain rule that they should abide and follow. But I do think that having a bit of a freedom while in your school life, it's also really important and it would just allow you to be more creative as well. So yeah, I think rules should definitely.

Examinador

Have you ever had a really dedicated teacher?

Candidato

Yes, I do. So I do have a really hard working and dedicated teacher back in high school again. Umm, yeah. So she's really well prepped, uh, for every single lesson that she's giving to us, umm, and she tried to engage us with umm, multiple format, not just like, you know, your typical textbook, but she utilized a lot of different, uh, medias.

Examinador

Do you prefer to have more or fewer rules at school?

Candidato

I would say that from a student's perspective, if we could have, uh, a little bit less rule on, you know, how the uniform should be or how your hairstyle should be, that would really, umm, you know, benefit, umm, from a student's perspective because I think these are some of the rules that students try to violate and try to show their personality.

Examinador

Have you ever had a really strict teacher?

Candidato

Yes, I did. So, uh, back in high school, I had this paid teacher. He's really strict, uh, particularly to me for some reason. Umm, so I remember I was really terrible at volleyball and he would always keep me after, uh, class and just ask me to continuously practice my volleyball skills, which made me really stressed back then. So yeah, he's really strict on me particularly.

Examinador

Would you like to work as a teacher in a rule-free school?

Candidato

No, I wouldn't want to be a teacher, first of all. Uh, the main reason being that I am such an impatient person, so I don't think I can deal with student children's or teenagers. Umm. So yeah, I think I wouldn't want to be in a strict environment teaching kids where I'm already losing my temper as well as patience.

Gramática

Singular and plural issue

× we do have a rule for particularly girls that your skirt, uh, 'cause we do have uniforms, uh, so your skirt has to be a longer and beneath your knee, like it can't be like really short.

we do have a rule particularly for girls that your skirt has to be longer and beneath your knee, like it can't be really short.

a rule for particularly girls'中,'girls'是复数,但前面用了'a rule',且表达不清晰。应改为'particularly for girls',并且'skirt has to be a longer'中,'a longer'用法错误,'longer'是比较级,不需要冠词'a'。应改为'skirt has to be longer'。

Singular and plural issue

× So, yeah, I think that's one of the most memorable world that I had back in high school.

So, yeah, I think that's one of the most memorable rules that I had back in high school.

Modal verb usage

× I agree to a certain extent that students will need a certain rule that they should abide and follow.

I agree to a certain extent that students will need certain rules that they should abide by and follow.

'a certain rule'应为复数形式'some rules'或'certain rules',因为学生通常有多条规则。'

Singular and plural issue

× she tried to engage us with umm, multiple format, not just like, you know, your typical textbook, but she utilized a lot of different, uh, medias.

she tried to engage us with multiple formats, not just like, you know, your typical textbook, but she utilized a lot of different media.

'multiple format'应为复数形式'multiple formats'。'medias'是错误的复数形式,'media'本身是复数,单数为'medium'。

Singular and plural issue

× if we could have, uh, a little bit less rule on, you know, how the uniform should be or how your hairstyle should be, that would really, umm, you know, benefit, umm, from a student's perspective

if we could have, uh, a little bit fewer rules on, you know, how the uniform should be or how your hairstyle should be, that would really, umm, you know, benefit, umm, from a student's perspective

'less rule'错误,'rule'是可数名词,表示数量时应使用'fewer'而非'less',且应为复数形式'rules'。

Singular and plural issue

× I had this paid teacher.

I had this paid teacher.

Incorrect use of pronouns

× I don't think I can deal with student children's or teenagers.

I don't think I can deal with students, children, or teenagers.

'student children's'结构错误,'children'已经是复数,且不应与'student'连用。应分开为'students, children'。

Incorrect use of adjectives or adverbs

× I wouldn't want to be in a strict environment teaching kids where I'm already losing my temper as well as patience.

I wouldn't want to be in a strict environment teaching kids where I would already lose my temper as well as patience.
