Do you like buying shoes? How often?
Thí sinh
Yeah, I do, but I wouldn't say I buy them very often. Probably only when I really need a new pair and I try to not buy too many.

Have you ever bought shoes online?
Thí sinh
Yes, definitely, yes I have, it's quite convenient, but sometimes the quality is not that good and also the size doesn't fit perfectly. So I think I will never buy shoes online 'cause this can be a little bit risky.

How much money do you usually spend on shoes?
Thí sinh
I think it depends but I usually try to keep it reasonable. I would say I don't spend too much unless it's a good quality period that can last a long time, but I think it's around $500.00 for shoes.

Which do you prefer, fashionable shoes or comfortable shoes?
Thí sinh
Definitely comfortable shoes since I work quite a lot every day I have to go to school, I have to walk by, uh, walk to the bus stop and I have to go to the gym. So comfortable is more important than like appearing. Although our balance would be ideal.

Điểm: 75.0Gợi ý: Begin with a clear topic sentence, then give one or two specific supporting details using linking words. Avoid filler words and keep it within 3–4 sentences. For example, state how often in measurable terms (e.g. monthly, yearly) and mention one reason or habit that explains why.
Ví dụ: Yes, I like buying shoes, but I don’t do it often — maybe twice a year. I usually only buy a new pair when my old ones are worn out, because I prefer to save money. Also, I avoid impulse purchases by making a list of what I need before shopping.
Have you ever bought shoes online?
Điểm: 60.0Gợi ý: Start with a concise direct answer, then explain pros and cons using linking words like 'however' or 'although.' Avoid absolute statements such as 'never' unless you can justify them. Provide a specific example of a bad experience or a condition under which you might buy online in the future.
Ví dụ: Yes, I have bought shoes online and I find it convenient; however, sizing can be unreliable. For instance, I once ordered sneakers that were too small and the material felt cheaper than in the photos. Although it can be risky, I would buy online again if there were free returns and detailed size charts.
How much money do you usually spend on shoes?
Điểm: 50.0Gợi ý: Give a clear, realistic amount and explain the reasoning with specific details. Avoid contradictory phrases and ensure numbers are plausible for a single pair or a time period (e.g. per year). Use linking words like 'because' to justify spending choices.
Ví dụ: It depends, but I usually spend around $50–$100 per pair because I value comfort and durability. If it’s a high-quality pair that will last years, I might spend up to $150, but generally I try to keep it reasonable to stay within my budget.
Which do you prefer, fashionable shoes or comfortable shoes?
Điểm: 70.0Gợi ý: Answer directly, then give specific reasons linked coherently. Avoid hesitation and vague phrases; replace fillers with concise clauses. Mention one or two concrete situations that show why comfort matters, and end with a brief contrast or compromise.
Ví dụ: I prefer comfortable shoes because I walk a lot to school and take public transport. For example, I commute daily and also go to the gym, so I need shoes that support my feet and last all day. However, I do try to find styles that look decent so I can balance comfort and appearance.
× I try to not buy too many.
✓ I try not to buy too many.
The issue is incorrect placement of not with the verb form. 'Try' is followed by the infinitive 'to buy' or the structure 'try not to' + verb. Use 'try not to buy' rather than 'try to not buy' for more natural, grammatically preferred word order.
× So I think I will never buy shoes online 'cause this can be a little bit risky.
✓ So I think I will never buy shoes online because this can be a little risky.
Using 'will never' with 'because this can be' is awkward but acceptable; main issue is informal 'cause' and 'a little bit risky' wordiness. Replace 'cause' with 'because' and 'a little bit risky' with 'a little risky' for conciseness. No tense change required.
× I would say I don't spend too much unless it's a good quality period that can last a long time, but I think it's around $500.00 for shoes.
✓ I would say I don't spend too much unless it's a good-quality pair that can last a long time, but I think it's around $500 for shoes.
Problems: missing hyphen in 'good-quality' when used as a compound adjective, incorrect noun 'period' instead of 'pair', and unnecessary '.00' in informal speech. Use 'a good-quality pair' and omit extra zeros for natural phrasing.
× since I work quite a lot every day I have to go to school, I have to walk by, uh, walk to the bus stop and I have to go to the gym.
✓ since I work quite a lot every day: I have to go to school, walk to the bus stop, and go to the gym.
The phrase 'walk by, uh, walk to the bus stop' has filler and incorrect preposition use. 'Walk to the bus stop' is correct; remove 'by' and disfluencies. Also add commas and 'and' for parallel structure.
× So comfortable is more important than like appearing.
✓ So comfort is more important than appearance.
Using 'comfortable' (an adjective) as a noun is awkward; 'comfort' (noun) pairs with 'appearance' (noun). Also remove filler 'like' for clarity and formality.
