When I was a kid, I'd liked the meat pretty much just like now. I wasn't in the vegetables at all, so I used to pick them out of my diet. Looking back, that was a bit unhealthy, but that was just my taste back then.

Has your favourite food changed since you were a child?
Thí sinh
Not really in terms of taste because I still love meat the most. The main difference is that I am more conscious about the healthy and now even though the meat is still my favorite, I make a point of eating more vegetables than I used to. I want to make my diet more healthier.

Ví dụ: I'm definitely a meat lover, especially pork, lamb and beef. For example, I often choose grilled lamb chops or a pork stew when dining out. If there's meat on the plate, it's usually the first thing I try.

Ví dụ: When I was a child, I liked meat just as much as I do now. I wasn't fond of vegetables, so I often picked them out of my food. Looking back, my parents worried about my diet and tried to encourage me to eat more greens.

× I'd say I'm definitely a meat lover.
✓ I'd say I'm definitely a meat lover.
× I loved all kinds of meat such as pork, lamb and beef.
✓ I love all kinds of meat such as pork, lamb, and beef.
× To be honest, if there is a meat on the dish, that's the first thing for me to have one.
✓ To be honest, if there is meat on the plate, that's the first thing I would have.
问题包括冠词和搭配:英文中通常说“meat”作不可数名词不用冠词;“on the dish”用“on the plate”更自然;“have one”与前文重复且不必要,改为“have”或“I would have”更通顺。
× When I was a kid, I'd liked the meat pretty much just like now.
✓ When I was a kid, I liked meat pretty much the same as I do now.
删除缩写并用一般过去时“liked”;同时改写“just like now”为“the same as I do now”以更自然表达。
× I wasn't in the vegetables at all, so I used to pick them out of my diet.
✓ I wasn't into vegetables at all, so I used to pick them out of my meals.
原句中“in the vegetables”搭配错误,正确短语是“into vegetables”(喜欢/感兴趣的意思);此外“pick them out of my diet”意思模糊,改为“pick them out of my meals”更清晰。
× Looking back, that was a bit unhealthy, but that was just my taste back then.
✓ Looking back, that was a bit unhealthy, but it was just my taste back then.
× In colder months I tend to eat healthy food like beef or lamb because it feels more comforting.
✓ In colder months I tend to eat hearty foods like beef or lamb because they feel more comforting.
此外“it feels”应与复数“beef or lamb”(或复数概念foods)一致,用“they feel”。
× In summer I still like meat but I'll try it a bit lighter and have more vegetables to balance the diet to make me feel more feel more healthy.
✓ In summer I still like meat, but I try to eat a bit lighter and have more vegetables to balance my diet and make me feel healthier.
原句有多处问题:混用将来时“I'll try”与通常季节性习惯应使用一般现在时“I try”;短语“try it a bit lighter”搭配不当,改为“try to eat a bit lighter”;重复“feel more”是笔误;“more healthy”非标准,改为比较级“healthier”;并将“the diet”改为“my diet”更自然。
× Not really in terms of taste because I still love meat the most.
✓ Not really in terms of taste, because I still love meat the most.
× The main difference is that I am more conscious about the healthy and now even though the meat is still my favorite, I make a point of eating more vegetables than I used to.
✓ The main difference is that I am more conscious about health, and now even though meat is still my favorite, I make a point of eating more vegetables than I used to.
原句“conscious about the healthy”搭配错误,“healthy”是形容词,需名词“health”;此外将“the meat”改为“meat”更自然。
× I want to make my diet more healthier.
✓ I want to make my diet healthier.
“more healthier”为双重比较级错误(redundant comparative),应直接使用“healthier”。建议避免同时使用“more”与带-er结尾的比较级。
